The "W" Family

I spent a beautiful August morning with the "W" Family.  Our family has been friends with this family for ages.  "L" and I used to teach grade four together and then had kids at very the same time.  I treasure the fact that even though we don't teach in neighboring classrooms anymore we still enjoy a friendship as families.  "T & L" live just outside the city and have a fabulous yard.  We spent the morning in and around their yard.  Really, it's a paradise for both little and big kids....a treefort, tire swings, meadows, rope ladders and best of all a zipline!

 Little "T" is a boy through and through.  I had to laugh when he was about half done his soda and asked if I thought it would light on fire alright.  Only a little guy would think of lighting his soda pop on fire!  I do think he gets it from his dad!

Celebrating 25 Years!

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law celebrated their 25th anniversary a few weekends ago.  I was so impressed with my nieces and nephew who planned a special day to celebrate the milestone.  They told me that they wanted to plan things that they knew both their Mom and Dad would want and enjoy.  So they started off with some family pictures in the Exchange for their Mom, went go-carting for their Dad (a typical 25th anniversary event, right?) and then ended off the day with a barbeque at their home with friends and family.  All of the day was a surprise for R & S.  I think this stressed them out just a little as they didn't quite know what to expect.  Their kids ended the evening with a lovely little program complete with speeches full of heartfelt, funny and meaningful sentiments.  Congratulations!

 And I just couldn't resist ending with this photo.  My brother-in-law "R" is always a little unpredicable and a bit crazy.  My sister-in-law "S" does not look like she is celebrating a 25th anniversary...she has hardly aged at all compared to her wedding photos 25 years ago!

Princess "S" Turns Three!

"S" definitely is a princess.  A silly, sweet, expressive, crazy, fun-loving, inquisitive, happy princess!  We headed to the park to take some photos to celebrate her third birthday.  She was fun from the beginning of the session right to the end....probably one of the most expressive kids I've ever photographed.  My favorite moments from our session were when her balloons drifted gracefully out of her hand and landed in the tree high above us, and when she downed her bottle of soda in record time....it must have been really yummy!  "S" I hope your "orangelicious" party is everything you imagined.  Thanks so much for the invitation....so thoughtful of you!
